The childhood obesity crisis continues to worsen and is becoming increasingly more common across the U.S. To help adolescent patients struggling with obesity, Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital (BMSCH) at Robert Wood Johnson University (RWJUH) was recently designated as the first “Adolescent Center of Excellence for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery” in the world by the Surgical Review Corporation. R&J helped to leverage the designation and spread the word about this significant achievement as well as other treatment options available to adolescents and young adults struggling with obesity and its related health problems.
